Display Brightness
Brighter or dimmer on the display you’re working on, external monitors included.
Dim the second monitor a notch in the evening.
The brightness keys on a Mac only reach the built-in screen and Apple displays. Other monitors you’d set with their own buttons. ⌃⌥⌘K and ⌃⌥⌘O do both.
External monitors are controlled over the cable (DDC/CI). That works over USB-C, Thunderbolt and DisplayPort, but not through the HDMI port of many Macs or some docks. Then the pop-up tells you which monitor teespoons couldn’t reach.
- One press is one sixteenth, like the Mac’s own keys
- Needs no permission
The app has a short tutorial for this. In the settings window, click Try it on the spoon’s page or press Command 5 ⌘ 5 for Tutorials.
